I have been thinking a long time of a "guide" or introduction
but at my usual progress, which will include another job
change or two and a major move also, i'm sure, Michael
will be into his 3rd edition before i even get down to it.
I was thinking more of something the size of an old FAIR
RADIO catalog; photos black&white and larger but not more
than 1/5 page size; an odd color photo; some photos scanned
in from Radio News magazine or others, or privately held photos;
no attempt at comprehensiveness or completeness; but photos
and info on interesting and practically found sets, but including
PRC-1 and and MBM and such; and some interesting lore, as
well as teaser photos with prices of SCR-240, for example;
1955 prices (post Korea War); Dymo label maker used to label
photos; about 20 pages; not expensively priced; and must
include somewhere the words "Reparable" and "Same but
different". Oh, if i'm not clear yet, the format would be of a
pseudo-surplus catalog. Maybe it should even include an aircraft
or liberty ship advertisement listing also; i have the material to
copy. What fun! And oh yeah, would probably include a BC-14
and up to the GRC- FM Cold War equipment. -Hue M.
