A couple caveats come to mind, first. You would best inquire, maybe, to
someone who was an involuntary guest of Japan in those years, if the people
weren't our enemies. Not just the uniform-wearing ones, but the ones bidding
to lease your labor from their government.
Also, Gandhi's advice to the the Jews comes to mind: Submit yourself to the
butchers, and you will shame their conscience and bring them to understanding.
And Gandhi's advice to England: give your land to the attacker, give up your
island.
Uh-huh, i say.
I like the gear, because like an old musical instrument, it has "character".
It holds the memories of messages, important, critical, some mundane.
( The "ghost of electricity", to steal a phrase? )
I like to fire up something that hasn't had life in it, for maybe 60 years.
That's one way to easy time travel, for me.
