That's simply not the case.

Five minutes ago I sent a trial HTML message to another list on QTH and it
reflected back w/o burping.  It has to be the settings on this particular
list, which is presumably changeable by the list owner.

I like the "no attachments" for security reasons and to be kind to those w/
dial-up (like me) and have my own lists set up to strip them. No problem at
all there.
