I beg to differ with you regarding the R-105M and family (R-105M, R-108M and

The Chinese also made a series of solid state radios, the 705, 708, 
and 709, that had the same frequency range as the Russian radios.   I 
am not sure what years these things were made but I think they are 
contemporary with the 884.
