I have the RCAF manual, dated 1955, imagine that,
altho production of the hardware was only WW2.
Also altho the manual is Large, like RBC size, and
has not been disassembled for copy. Also kinda
interesting that apparently the RCAF kept them on,
instead of buying some surplus ART-13s as the
airlines did.
The configuration is interestingly different from our
amphib radios. The GO were about 350W input CW
only, and single channel. The same plane model,
the PBY, in RCAF configuration, carried 2x AT-12 HF
and a single AT-12 LF. The transmitter runs about
250W input under cw AND am. ( But i think the modulator
/PS must be super rare.) The control box switches
channels between the 3 transmitters.
Does the 1625 have the same basing as the 814? I was
wondering if need be, or preferred, if 1625s could be used
in the PA of this transmitter. Altho 1100 volts is not that
much more difficult to scratch up than 500 volts. -Hue
