Although they are newer than what you initially mentioned, here are 2 sets I have:  
1)  Heathkit "Concept of Electronics" (2 3-ring notebooks) and 
2)  Heathkit "Semiconductor Devices" (1 3-ring notebook)

  They're definitely worth getting - the CREI (and National Radio Institute) books do a really good job of explaining the electronic technology of their era.

  Back in the sixties and early seventies, this was an electronic home correspondance

  course. 

  If any one has the books and wants to sell them, I would be willing to pay for them.

  (of course, no one will give them away and I don't blame them.).
