[Milsurplus] Paypal- a sign of the times?

There's some good logic behind treating Paypal as some kind of monopoly and I hope some one with a little legal umph causes them to cease and desist.

Customer convenience is going rapidly to the dogs.

Just recently I ordered a H.V. diode for a micowave oven. Seems the local Yellow pages listed the phone number for the Service Center - not in Canada but the U.S. I was rather baffled when the young lady asked what state Ottawa was in and then referred me to a Montreal operator.

Having established ( after 20 mins on the phone) that the part did exist, I was told the local sercie center had no phone- that's right a service cewnter with no phone.

Well I was told to drive to a vertain location and see if they had it in stock. They didn't. ( of course they're a service center).

The service person asked if I had a description of the part and given it was a H.V.Diode said there was none, but ehre wasa rectrifier! Voila!. When he looked for rectifier on the parts list it showed "lead, captive head.

That settled I ventured to ask why they had no phone and he replied, " If we had a phone we'd spend all the time looking up parts".

I guess you know what they do with rolling donuts?
