Hi Joe,
My guess is you have the LO tuned to the wrong side of the signal at the
high end. There will most likely be TWO positions of the trimmer that
will allow you to hear an 11 MHz signal. The issue is that the LO is
supposed to be on the high side of the received signal. You most likely
have the RF amps peaked to the image at the high end of the band.
Things the go to pot in the middle. Read the alignment procedure
carefully. The RCH manual is on BAMA. See paragraph 4.33. If set up
correctly, you'll find the image of the test signal 1170 KHz (IF x 2)
LOWER on the dial.
This is a dyslexic's nightmare, and an easy mistake to make. So be patient.
