Let's see - East Germany just before the collapse of the wall, Japan
(unknown period) and the South Seas (also unknown period) ... the last
of which is represented by local handiwork.  Well, it is
"multicultural" but it feels like something thrown together for lack
of anything better to do or, as you suggested, to ward off the
destroyers of history & heritage.

No chuckles but I did giggle for a bit.  Does that count?  :)
