"I don't understand this Japan bashing. They were our enemies during WW2 but they have turned out to be one of your staunchest allies in the last 30 years. We criticize the use of their equipment in some of our museum displays but we don't hesitate selling milsurplus radios to Japanese collectors.

-Okay, delete the word "rice" and imagine for a moment, say, some group is going for "points" by 
making contacts from battleship radio rooms using TenTec or Heathkit SSB radios. Same exact 
point. We just like to use the term "ricebox" because that is where most compact modern radios
are coming from. ( to their credit. ) -Hue Miller
