Cool!  Payday (the day the VA deposits my pension) is 1 November.  I
think we can arrange something appropriate off the list to manage

Okay, I can attach an antenna to a pack frame (I may not use the
original.) then couple it to the radio via the BNC connector.  Since
the output tuning circuit serves both it and the jack (according to
what I see on DJ2EI's site), that should work just as well.  An AB-129
+ AT-271 combination should handle the SEG-15D nicely.

Is there anything that commonly breaks in them?  I know they use
fairly common TTL ICs and the PC boards aren't top notch but is there
anything I should especially look out for?  Also, what kind of
batteries are in the battery pack?  I'd like to install fresh ones but
I've not yet opened the pack to see what I'm dealing with.
