[Milsurplus] BC-342/312 part needed

I have both and I'd like to find the locking bracket for the vernier
knob. Most web photos of rigs show this missing. Was this a post-war
"convenience mod" or were these pulled because they were a problem? 

 

The locking levers on my TCS RX/TX move the dials slightly when
tightened. Same problem here?

 

Anyone have one laying around with nothing to do? 

If so, contact me off-list and we'll do a deal.
