It could even be for use with a ancient Spark Gap
or Paulsen Arc station.  Maybe they called them
"generators". I do know that the rotary machine
which was in MA was an Alexanderson Alternator.
You describe the kind of cable that was common
in those stations in those days.  Also, what
Van DerGraff made he called a Generator. Then,
Tesla did too.  I have a Coleman lantern that has
a generator in it.  TRIVIA
