A lot depends on what the medals were for. If they were for high school track of some long dead and
forgotten relative, maybe it was the best use.
IMO, governments are forever asking the citizenry to sacrifice to no really good purpose. For example,
how much of your tax money is really well spent? Precious little, IMO. Around here, they just spent
over a million dollars replacing some concrete curbs with granite ones.
