Oh- almost forgot this, regarding metal drives: that book that entranced me lately (one of many),
"Italy at War", has a photo of a metal drive there. Among the old baby strollers, wagons, and such,
one person was turning in a display collection of military medals, mounted on a large display
panel, about maybe 4 by 3 foot, a couple score medals with their ribbons on it. Now, that metal was
really crucial to Italy's war capacity, wasn't it?
