Maybe it's simply because eBay has bought PayPal,
that warnings agains using BidPay (Western Union's
system similar to PayPal, I believe) but some sites
warn against using BidPay.

Personally, I have no problem with PayPal. It keeps
my info, whether credit card or bank, from the seller
at the other end. If you are not a commercial seller
and accept only bank transfers through PayPal, and
only have infrequent transactions thereon, I don't
think you even get charged for the transfer. I know
that I have never been charged by PayPal, at least
up until now.

The one time I used BidPay way back when I first
bought on eBay, the charge was inordinately high.

I go to post office almost everyday anyway to pick
up anything that has arrived at my PO box, so buying
a Postal Money Order three or four times a year is
NOT a big deal to me. To me a requirement to pay
with a money order is certainly not a deal killer.

With the current popularity of e-Bay, and the increasing lower income jobs
money orders are available about every where. Western Union money orders and
their "paypal" equivalent are available at gas stations in this area.
