Sorry to take so long with this, John.
This TBX accessory is designed to keep your transmitter on freq.
It uses a single "D" cell for fils for the one tube,
and one of those thin, rectangular bias batteries
(7 1/2 volts) for the B+. A 9-volter works just fine.
It used a little 4-inch antenna or any piece of wire.
You plug in a headset, hold down the momentary
contact switch to light the filament and listen for the
beat note against the crystal you select to set your tx freq.
Never seen documentation for it.
I have one and have seen a couple of others
over the last ten years,
so would not call them "rare,"
but would call them "scarce" and quite useful.
