Troop Carrier Squadron back then.
Some of you old geezers might remember
that the TCS aircraft usually had it all
spelled out along the top of the fuselage.
I remember that when the C-54's were sent
to Germany to work the Berlin Airlift they
had their old markings, and in some nice
fonts.  My old C-47, 8403, had AACS all
spelled out along the side. I have pictures.
TRIVIA:  At the end of WWII the cargo aircraft
which were retained were mostly OD.  Olive
Drab.  The weight of the paint made it worth
the effort to remove it.  I've seen that being
done, and a nice shiny airplane was the result.
Well, some influential people thought something
