I saw one of these at the Rickreal hamfest a couple years back.
The seller was from Montana, IIRC, and didn't seem in the mood
to dicker at all - fine, keep it! The price on the SSB-1 was $125,
which i figured was not realistic. Funny, $125 is just not that much
moolah that i'd worry about it at all, but it's the perception of value.
I reckoned about $50 tops should have made the seller totally
happy. All i saw in it that was valuable was a Collins filter or 2.
Actually i knew that from the manual, i think. I have a manual
but who knows where it hides. These base stations of course
at least go down to 2 MHz and generally top out at 12 MHz,
sometimes all the way up to 18 MHz. -Hue Miller
