Hi Richard and Meir,

May I add that, while a Sender is a transmitter, Messender is a signal 
generator or test oscillator.  Messen is to measure.  Leistung-Messender is 
a high power signal generator.  This according to the Woerterbuch der 
Industriellen Technik.
