Subject: need ARC Type 12 crystals

+AD4-
+AD4-I have eleven already, four of which work fine, and one's a little off f., but
+AD4-all are the low range: 119.1 to 121.9 mc. I need a few to hit 132 - 148 mc -
+AD4-the 'fundamental' will be between 7.333 to 12.333 mc, depending on if they
+AD4-multiply 12 or 18 times (the tx's can use either.) They're medium-large, like
+AD4-an FT-243 on steroids: pin dia. is .125 (1/8+ACI-) and the case is nearly twice
+AD4-FT-243 size, altho International Crystal had them back in the mid-70's as their
+AD4-F-612, which is just their F-605 (HC-6/U) with pin sleeves. I don't know the
+AD4-FT-number+ADs- sorry (calling Mike Morrow and/or RWD ...) If they're actually
+AD4-marked +ACI-ARC Type 12+ACI-, great+ADs- most will have bakelite cases+ADs- later ones are
metal
+AD4-cans.
+AD4-
+AD4-I esp. want 6.8361111 or 10.254166 to hit 123.05, the local MSL f., but
anything
+AD4-that hits the high range will do, as I want them to +ACI-whistle-thru+ACI- (spot tune
+AD4-for calibration) the R-19/R-508's I have, and avoid having to crank up a
+AD4-sig-genny. (Thanks to N3TPM Craig and KA3AIS Bill I have the CM-10 +ACI-sled+ACI- that
+AD4-mounts one each R- and T-, which makes this super-easy.)
+AD4-
+AD4-Note to Mike Tauson: there's two errors on page A-7 of your neato +ACI-User's Guide
+AD4-to ARC Receivers+ACI- (you should change that word to +ACI-Gear+ACI-, BTW): the T-11B
(12v)
+AD4-was depoted as the T-365+ADs- and the T-13A nomen. are reversed: the (12v) is
T-364+ADs-
+AD4-the (24) is T-363 (I should know, I have one ... and it's also given in TM
+AD4-11-525-10).
+AD4-
+AD4-Some minutia: it appears there's a tuning-range change from the T-363 to the
+AD4-T-363A: my T-363 will tune nicely with lo-band xtals (tho it's not 'spose to),
+AD4-tho the T363A runs out of range on the trimmers w/o ever getting to full power.
+AD4-Hence the need for hi-band xtals to run tests ...
+AD4-
+AD4-The early tx's using 6AQ5's have slightly more RF - about 150 mw more than the
+AD4-later 5763's. I suppose it was for ruggedness, and it didn't matter to them
+AD4-that the 5763's draw nearly twice the fil. current ... none of my four tx's had
+AD4-tube shields to hold the tubes in+ADs- in fact, with the ARC 15900 capacity plate
in
+AD4-place (it was in the T-363A), you couldn't use 'em if you wanted to+ACE- The rx's
+AD4-are not esp. voltage sensitive+ADs- 180v plate will do, altho the squelch won't
+AD4-trigger off the AVC line. The tx's, tho, will drop to only 1/2 watt out at
+AD4-250v+ADs- it takes the full 280v to get the rated 2 watts+ADs- 300v gets a little over.
+AD4-
+AD4-As an aside, if you make wiring changes to any unit, please, please DOCUMENT
the
+AD4-changes and put it inside the rig. I've been fortunate to get my units from
+AD4-conscientious types+ADs- please be like them (do succeeding generations a favor)
and
+AD4-DOCUMENT EVERYTHING+ACE- TIA e
+AD4-
