[Milsurplus] QRMing the MilRadio Net

I'm listening to the Mil Radio Collector's Net on 3885 this morning.
They meet each Saturday a 5AM Eastern.
Someone has a steady, low carrier on 3885.
Normally, an AM signal with a little FM on it shouldn't be 
a problem when using an AM detector.
But this signal beats against the MOPA guys and makes
them  unreadable.  
Does this happen often?  If so, has anyone tried to 
find where the QRM originates?
