[Milsurplus] BC-348-Q questions

Hi, folks,

I just received a BC-348-Q from Larry (Thank you, Larry.) which
presents a puzzlement.  No, two of them.

The receiver went through Pensicola NAS O&R for whatever is between R
and RT on the processing sticker 1st quarter, 1965.  Is this an
indication the Navy used the ARC-8 as well?

Second, it has a box with an SO-239 on it that appears to have been a
field mod or something instead of a post military "improvement".  Was
there a TO/??? on this modification?  I've never seen one like it
before.

A little flaked paint but, heck, that gives it character.  Now I have
to get some shelving in so I can plug 'n play and get my code speed
back up so I'm not an embarrassment.

Hmmm ... anyone have a mount and plug they don't want? <G>
