One of the books, i think it is the Clayton Ogburn
"Merill's Maruaders", but maybe wrong, mentions
travelling thru a valley in ?Burma? overrun with
maneating tigers, and that the native guides as well
as Americans were absolutely terrified, and spent
a wakeful night....tigers were heard, but no attacks...
