Maybe worth a bit more if the leather is in good condition,i.e. fairly
straight and not all wrinkled up and shrunk to the point they can't be
buttoned up.These are most likely pre war and early war "A" models. I
have some in shabby leather, very good canvas, and some in shellaced or
varnished canvas that look good but shrunk to the point of not
buttoning up.Also check the handset cords as these tend to get crumbly
in adverse conditions. The cords do still turn up NOS on occasion. Most
of the time these still work fine.Manuals are available too. Most I've
come accross go for $30 to $50 or more a pair, and that's ePlace
prices.BTW these are easy to test.2D cells each and some speaker wire
across the kitchen table should do it!
Enjoy! You'll want a BD-77 or -78 next, once you get the field phone
bug!(Fair Radio has various lengths of wire available too.)

Subject: [Milsurplus] EE-8 Field Phone Questions
I came across a pair of EE-8 field phones in an estate I'm helping the
widow redistribute, but rather than being in the OD canvas case, common
in WW II, these are in medium tan leather cases.
Does anyone know if they were pre-war or just an alternate to the
canvas? Also, are the leather cased ones worth more, the same, or less?
Thanks,
-John
