At the May 2006 MRCG meet in San Louis Obispo CA, Tom WA6OPE and Andy 
KD6TKX had over 1 mile communication useing BC-222's.I was privileged 
to communicate with Tom from Andy's end and I was impressed by how such 
a simple set could provide excellent clear communication.Andy "netted" 
to Tom by tuning to Tom's regen receiver.That too surprised me that a 
regan's oscillation could broadcast over a mile.Leads one back to the 
US Navy's fears of dfing receiver LO's and such,which has been a 
subject of controversy.
  Very neat little set,looks just like something out of a mid '30's QST 
or ARRL handbook.Worth adding to any collection if you have a chance to 
aquire one.
