The BC-339 was the 1 KW driver for the 10 KW BC-340,
but could be used stand-alone.  Mostly RTTY, some FSK MUX,
(with external carrier supplies plugged into the xtal holder), no AM,
occasional CW.  Nice big thick soft aluminum plates for sides and
tops.  Phased out in USAF by 1962.  Those transmitters were really
designed for pre-WWII civilian  trans-continental use, and the
military procured a lot of them.
