All: It's absolutely true.  Another thing to remember: If you have a spouse,
and you pass away, how will your spouse ever deal with it?  My wife takes
pleasure in my enjoyment of the hobby, but she has also incented me to
become a lot more discriminating than I have been in the past.

This is an absolute truth. Sadly, it seems to be one
of those things that has to be learned through direct,
personal experience. Or divorce. Or both.

So far, I can't get down to "2 or 3". I am under
50--including everything--radios, test gear, antenna
tuners and all. I was over 150 at one time, which is
when Dave's absolute truth became clear to me.

Ah well...
