Well I am very impressed with this little BC-1306.
 
Just had an 85 mile qso on AM and a 300 mile qso to Holland on CW (19:40h).  
Perfect copy on phone and a 589 with chirp from Holland. 
 
I have found I get a better field strength with the long wire direct to the  
set, the ae tuner controls peak nicely and my little neon is glowing red.
 
Considering its age and simplicity I think its working well.
