[Milsurplus] Interesting Navy Morale Radio

That is a very interesting radio from two points of reference.

It is quite evident that it was made by a non-radio oriented 
manufacturing company, just looking at the front panel.  The control 
labels and knob orientations are generelly just about the opposite of 
what was done by the majors.  The 1/4"" (apparently) bolt head in the 
lower right corner of the front panel is unlike any other front panel 
of an entertainment radio I can recall.  The tuning knob, if 
original, must make for some touchy tuning.  The flat, unadorned dial 
window is effective, but again, few commercial radios were made that 
plain.

And, I think the seller is off by a decade on age.  The CD program 
started in the mid 50s, and this rado has no dial markings.  Even on 
a Navy contract, I don't think a radio could be manufactured in the 
US without those marks after about 1956, so that makes this item a 
pre- '56 radio, not mid '50s to 60s.
