Sounds all to familiar. I was on a program that cost about $55 M in the
1970....  a LOT of money......  Just before launch at VAFB, they decided
to save about $10 K by not flushing the flame bucket with water prior to
ignition. There was an explosion that damaged the booster and sustainer
engines. The thing went into the Pacific.

In a nutshell: Money saved $10 K; money wasted $55 M. My time wasted...
2 years plus.

I got out of the space business, then and there.
