[Milsurplus] Micamold caps

Mouser sells a line of capacitors made by CDE which
although modern, are a dark brown in color, reducing
the visual impact of putting new caps in an old set.
(No connection with Mouser other than a satisfied customer).

In a BC-312 family radio, be aware that a number of Micamolds
are hiding inside the IF cans and front end coil boxes, so
major disassembly will be required, and you probably will have
to replace them all.

I just went through a pair of BC-433 radiocompass receivers, one
needed *every* Micamold replaced, the other one, *none*. I ran
the second one for a couple of hours with no problems.

Has anyone noticed that prewar and early war production radios
seem to have less problems with failed components than mid and
late war production radios? I have noticed this, but since I
only have a limited number of radios to base a conclusion on,
I can't say whether or not it is just coincidence or not.
