Well, they don't teach this stuff in school and even in the mid 70's 
tech schools glossed over motor/generator theory.

Don't solidly block the bottom - it needs an opening for cooling. The 
noise level is about the same as a subway train running through the 
shack, and if you put it outside the neighbors won't love you. 
 
My TBW is the same as your GO-9, and the load current will be 25 amps 
key-up, and 55 amps key-down at full output. You're in for an 
interesting and educational experience...
