CX was the prefix, not C. It was applied to experimental sets made
and/or designed by a contractor.

I have that radio - it is an RCA made CRV-4260, part of radio set MK.
The MK designation does not appear on the tag. The CRV-number is
simply a pre-1932 type number (one of the last, apparently). Note this
is MK, not Mark (as in ordnance stuff).

That MK was made in a huge quantity of four units, for one of the
flying boat squadrtons (I think - I have the info at home). It would
be interesting to see if it can talk to a TBS or TBY.
