The doc I have is from a Northern Electric (aka Canadian) Specific
Apparatus Description. There is a scan of it on the RoyalSignals.org.uk
site. It's a manual I've had since the 1960s.

If there is other doc out there, I'd very much like to know about it.

The question of the family history is still open.
