You're right. I have an RA-10DA, which does not have the
MR-11 loop box. I don't know where I came up with the idea
a hole had to be drilled, to install the box, the antenna post
is removed and the wires routed through its hole.
I have two RA-10 books, one book covers the C and D, and the
MR-11 box, but makes no mention of the A or B suffix. The
difference between the C and D is 14 or 28 Volt.
The other book is for an RA-10FA and FB. The difference there
is band 2 is another 2 to 5 mc band, instead of the low end
of the broadcast band. However the A and B suffix matches the
RA-10D series.
Keeping track of Bendix's numbering system can be a hobby
all to itself.
