I'd strongly suspect that it had an SCR-269 ADF. I've read that it was found set on 334 kc.

The best (IMHO) and most recent book on the LBG tragedy is Martinez' "Lady's Men." It is hard to escape the conclusion that the LBG's navigator, DP Hayes, was not doing his job on this flight. It has been reported that when the aircraft was finally found, all navigator's instruments and tools were still stowed. It is unlikely that they would have been stowed prior to abandoning the aircraft, had they been in use.

The mission was the first combat mission for the LBG's crew, and it was unsuccessful. A real shame and waste of crew and aircraft.
