The photo of the FRC-6 shows a rebadged Motorola FSTR-50 FM base
station. 30 - 40 MHz, 50 watts, 15+ kHz swing FM. The FRC-6A might
be one of two possibilities. Either the next frequency Range 40 to
50 MHz or the next later model Motorola 30 to 40 MHz station. I
suspect the latter, since Signal Corps systems of the time generally
did not go above 40 MHz. Look for Motorola manuals of the 40s and
50s. Anyone in the early ham repeater business in the 50s and 60s is
a likely source, or any old Motorola two way repairman can likely
draw the schematic and give you the meter readings from memory.
The "Yellow Book" was a compilation of Motorola service manuals of
that vintage, but beyond that name and the 11" x 17" size, I have no
other good description of yhat book, and mine is gone.
My suspicion is the FRC 6 had Loktal tubes, while the 6A had
miniature. 807s in the final. Identical to the radios sold to
hundreds of police, telco and other civilian users.
Fair Radio and Radio Era Archives both seem to list a manual for the
6A.
