My kinda fix unless you're entering a mo-gen concours 'd elegance

Have a Suzuki OHV-powered Toro lawn 'more.'  Wudn't go this spring.

Coil resistances seemed OK & battery blips on primary made sparks.
Guessed it was the no-points thing with a probable SCR and a
zero-crossing IC in the epoxy with the $140 coil.  Since primary lead
available I thot I might try an external 'solid state' point-set
replacement $10 epoxy nugget & see if relief resulted.

Now does anyone have a ckt. to what's in 'solid state' point-set
replacement $10 epoxy nuggets?  Briggs tradename Magneton
