George,
The Russian markings on the Wireless Set 19 are common. In fact, it'd be
less common to find one without the Russian markings.
In the last year of WW2 the US and Canada manufactured big quantities of
Wireless Sets 19 for the Soviet Union under the Lend-Lease program. Most of
them didn't make it to the Soviet Union due to the war's end.
Only Canadian and US built Wireless Sets 19 have Russian markings.
British, and other Allied manufactured sets had no Russian markings. Also
Canadian manufactured Mk III's which were refurbished after WW2 and used by
the Canadian forces had the front panels repainted and marked only in
English. Wireless Sets 19 were also used and were refurbished by Italy after
WW2 and were also repainted.
I don't know how why the seller got to call the two remote frequency
control heads for the ARB (WW2 US Navy aircraft receiver)
"Wind-Velocity-Controls"....
I'll bring this to the attention of the WS 19 Group...
