I'm almost finished with my BCC-344-D. It's playing great. It should be a
wonderful set for BCB DXing.

Behind the tuning dial is a tube/bulb that appears to be labeled NF (or NE)
48 (or 43). Here are my questions:

1. What is it?

2. What does it do?

3. Is it stock or an after-market mod?

4. Is it worth replacing? (It appears to be quite dead).
