Frequency range is the big difference. The 1306 runs the oscillator
directly into the PA while the GRC-9 has an intermediate buffer/doubler stage. This
could have an effect on keying characteristics but I've never checked it out.
The 1306 is also somewhat smaller and lighter. Fewer of them around too.
Both fun rigs.
