[Milsurplus] Big indicator

Just brought in a load of heavy avionics and in the mess is a couple of 
indicators:
Indicator
Gyro Flux Gate Compass Master
AN-5752-2
+ usual mfg data, contract # etc.
Fits in 5 1/8" hole.
Never saw anything like in in civil aviation.
Whatzit outa?
Will have 2 for sale or trade.
Also a 75 va 26/115 vac 400 cy inverter, 28 vdc input is available. 
Certifiable for aircraft use.
