I worked on quite a few WRC-1 and URC-35 family radios while in the
Navy. The WRC-1 was a separate transmitter exciter (T-827), receiver
(R-1051) and power amplifier (AM-3007). The URC-35 was a transceiver
which had the functions of the T-827 and R-1051 combined and used the
AM-3007 power amplifier.

While they looked identical, the AM-3007 used in the two
configurations contained different internal power supplies. When the
supply intended for the WRC-1 was used in a URC-35 configuration, it
would get very hot and fail after a short time, usually in a very big
way with burned circuit boards. When the proper power supply was used
in the URC-35 configuration, they were virtually indestructible.

Unfortunately, the supply chain did not know the difference and listed
both power supplies as "suitbale substitutes" for each other.
Ordering a URC-35 power supply usually got you a WRC-1 power supply.
