I sold an RAL-6 to Conard Murray, WS4S, a year or two ago that came
out of the submarine Pintado. There was a dymo label on the lower
front that indicated this put there by the previous owner, and the
receiver looked used. It had "Accepted by the Navy", and "Placed in
Service" tags both with dates stamped in them.
ALL of the RAKs or RALs I have seen which have NOT been used by
the military, never had the "Placed in Service" tags dated. They were
blank.
Further, most of those had "Accepted by the Navy" tags dated 1944 or
later.
