[Milsurplus] Where was RAL & RAK used?

I sold an RAL-6 to Conard Murray, WS4S, a year or two ago that came 
out of the submarine Pintado. There was a dymo label on the lower 
front that indicated this put there by the previous owner, and the 
receiver looked used. It had "Accepted by the Navy", and "Placed in 
Service" tags both with dates stamped in them. 

ALL of the RAKs or RALs I have seen which have NOT been used by 
the military, never had the "Placed in Service" tags dated. They were 
blank.

Further, most of those had "Accepted by the Navy" tags dated 1944 or 
later.
