Need info....

My BC-342-D is obviously not wired as some or all of the 312 models are 
to mute the receiver when on transmit, if you use that option.   I'm 
probably missing something here, but that seems strange to me that it 
wouldn't also have that feature since it has the relay connected and 
disconnects the antenna when in transmit.  My question is, can I run a 
wire from the relay to the grid of the 2nd detector VT-88 as is the done 
in the 312 models or is there a conflict with the 342?  Maybe I'm over 
looking something, but the way I see it the relay (when in transmit) 
does nothing more than ground the antenna and the grid of the 2nd detector.

I ran a test by inserting 12 vdc on the correct pins of SO-1 and 
operating the "Send/Receive" switch to see if the relay works and it 
does.  It actually shorts out the antenna, but when I check to see if it 
grounded the grid of VT-88 it has not.

Any ideas?
