Need info....
My BC-342-D is obviously not wired as some or all of the 312 models are
to mute the receiver when on transmit, if you use that option. I'm
probably missing something here, but that seems strange to me that it
wouldn't also have that feature since it has the relay connected and
disconnects the antenna when in transmit. My question is, can I run a
wire from the relay to the grid of the 2nd detector VT-88 as is the done
in the 312 models or is there a conflict with the 342? Maybe I'm over
looking something, but the way I see it the relay (when in transmit)
does nothing more than ground the antenna and the grid of the 2nd detector.
I ran a test by inserting 12 vdc on the correct pins of SO-1 and
operating the "Send/Receive" switch to see if the relay works and it
does. It actually shorts out the antenna, but when I check to see if it
grounded the grid of VT-88 it has not.
Any ideas?
Rick
