What kind of radio equipment do those ships parked at Suisan Bay, California, have?
'Bay Bridge Enterprises' is looking for a non-California, West Coast port to build a
facility and start on these ships. ( They cite CA labor costs, but i suspect it really
means environmental law costs. ) The town i live in, Newport OR, just ixnayed
Bay Bridge's bid to operate here, fearing it would affect the local tourism and
fishing and sea farming industries. Portland also ixnayed Bay Bridge unless
they dry-operate by way of a drydock. Bay Bridge, i think it is, also operates at
Chesapeake, Virginia, and other ship breaking is done at Brownsville, Texas, but
both these are uneconomical as far as towing the west coast ships there. Question:
what, if any, electronics is coming out of Chesapeake or Brownsville? When Bay
Bridge was discussing setting up here, they said that besides basic metals, they
would also recover "collectibles", meaning ships bells, maybe furniture, and such.
I wonder if that includes radio? -Hue Miller
