That might be arranged, if I can ever get moved to the new QTH and
reassemble the Hardinge (it is already down there with the entire left
end off - to replace the spindle bearings after we get down there
permanently.) In the meantime most people just us a banana plug. :-)
I wouldn't drill any new holes, personally - there are a whole lotta
ways to adapt it.

>Also, in regard to the GO-9, I have received some documentation describing modifications to enable the GO-9 to provide "RCM" capability. The descriptions and instructions do not elaborate on what "RCM" in Navy terms means. I believe it to be a "jamming" role. More details welcome.

RCM = ECM. In the classified world of ELINT that sprang up at the
beginning of the war, RCM was originally intended to stand for Radio
Counter Measures, and didn't differentiate between frequency ranges.
The focus on RADAR signals collection and countermeasures often morphed
it into Radar Counter Measures, but that wasn't the official title. The
mission given to Division 15 (RCM) by the NDRC was Radio - in part
because it obfuscated the nature of the work for security reasons.

There was a whole series of these mod kits designed for 100w aircraft
transmitters of the time, including the BC-375 and ART-13, and of course
the GO-9, all intended to jam ground communications receivers.

Best 73,
Mike
