I think this was a topic on a list last summer but I cannot remember
which one.Someone provided a link to a web site that had "technical"
info.It was all very interesting but did not seem very practical even
for stealthy stuff.
Then there are those motion sensors used in the Viet Nam war that
looked like small trees. And also the "Monkey Turd" sensor.I've got one
somewhere still in the wrapper and it looks very real except this s#!t
don't stink!

Subject: [Milsurplus] Tree Antenna
So I was out to dinner with the woman friend last night, and she
mentions that she has an artist friend doing something with trees as
antennas. Apparently the guy that founded Muzak back in the 1930s
invented some sort of thing for the Signal Corps that allowed trees to
be used as antennas. I am to find out about the connection, and what
the gizmo actually was (they make us guys do the weirdest things,
don't they?).
That is all the info I have. Normally, trees are lousy antennas, so
maybe his gizmo was a way of hanging an antenna in a tree or
something.
Any ideas?
