So I was out to dinner with the woman friend last night, and she
mentions that she has an artist friend doing something with trees as
antennas. Apparently the guy that founded Muzak back in the 1930s
invented some sort of thing for the Signal Corps that allowed trees to
be used as antennas. I am to find out about the connection, and what
the gizmo actually was (they make us guys do the weirdest things,
don't they?).
That is all the info I have. Normally, trees are lousy antennas, so
maybe his gizmo was a way of hanging an antenna in a tree or
something.
Any ideas?

I recall this being talked about many years ago. Was it not in Nam that they
tried trees as antenna ? Did it not involve a large loading coils around the
base of the tree ?
All a long time ago.
Ben.
